Some weddings are inspired by trends, while others are shaped by something far more meaningful: heritage, symbolism, and the quiet desire to honor where we come from.
For Derek and Deirdre, a couple of Asian descent born and raised in California, their wedding in Bali became more than just a celebration of love. It was a reflection of the traditions, stories, and cultural values that had shaped both of their lives since childhood.
Connected by their shared appreciation for Asian culture, history, and ancestral traditions, they dreamed of creating a wedding ceremony that felt deeply rooted in meaning while remaining intimate and connected to nature.
And in the heart of Bali’s tropical greenery, they found exactly that.

When searching for their wedding venue, Derek and Deirdre knew they wanted somewhere that felt peaceful, natural, and culturally connected to the atmosphere they envisioned.
They ultimately chose our package **Elopement Jungle Wedding in Canggu** a hidden tropical sanctuary where lush jungle surroundings meet traditional Indonesian architecture. For them, the venue offered the perfect balance: a serene forest-like setting immersed in nature, while still remaining close to Bali’s vibrant coastal areas where they would later spend their honeymoon together.
More than simply choosing a beautiful location, Derek and Deirdre wanted every detail of the celebration to carry intention and symbolism.
Their wedding styling embraced traditional Asian influences through intricately carved Javanese-inspired pergolas and altar details, beautifully blending with the surrounding greenery of the venue.
The result felt timeless, soulful, and deeply personal.

Surrounded by towering trees and the calming sounds of nature, Derek and Deirdre’s ceremony unfolded with an atmosphere that felt sacred and grounding.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the incorporation of an ancient hand-binding / hand fasting ritual, a symbolic ceremony representing the union of two souls becoming one.
Guided by their celebrants beneath the forest canopy, Derek and Deirdre held hands while a specially prepared cord resembling tree roots was gently wrapped around them. As they exchanged vows, the binding ritual symbolized not only commitment, but also the intertwining of their journeys, histories, and futures together.
At the end of the ceremony, they each pulled the cord tightly, creating a secure knot that represented the strength of their promises witnessed by nature itself.
It was intimate, emotional, and filled with profound symbolism.

Every element of Derek and Deirdre’s wedding was chosen with care and intention.
To honor the beauty of Indonesia, the country where they chose to marry, they incorporated meaningful local flowers into the décor styling. Lotus flowers symbolized purity, beauty, and longevity, while delicate tuberose flowers hanging above the ceremony space represented peace, sincerity, and the purity of love.
The natural floral palette blended seamlessly with the lush surroundings of Plataran Canggu, allowing the entire celebration to feel organic and deeply connected to the environment around them.
Nothing felt excessive.
Every detail simply carried meaning.
